March is almost ending - it's three months in to the year and I feel like it's been so much already. Is it so bad not to expect anything? I entered the new year, thinking I'm not going to expect very much. Yes, I'll have goals and plans for the year, but I'm not pressuring myself anymore. Last year, I think I was too, too stressed about a lot of things I had some measure of control over, but then didn't happen. That left me a little sad about how things turned out, but maybe something better is bound to happen. It was a big lesson in faith and patience.

So here I am now, not really expecting that much to happen - but I got surprised while flipping through my planners and saw that the year's been pretty interesting so far. I may not really feel it with being busy, but I've been somewhat amazed how everything is turning out so far. Let's see: new friendships, strengthening old ones, strange challenges and experiences and so on. Not as exactly as I wanted it to be, but I'm grateful for what has come along the way so far (and am looking forward to more!) and have learned to be always up for whatever happens. It's been a learning experience, letting things go and being open and maybe this is what I need to be.

Friday's Feast

Appetizer
On a scale of 1-10 (with 10 as highest), how much do you like your own handwriting?
I'll give myself a 6. It depends on the pen and paper. There are certain textures of paper that make my handwriting look nice and there are some that make me lazy to write nicely. I used to like my handwriting better in high school, but I guess since everything is electronic now, my handwriting evolved and has become a bit lazy. My high school's known for a certain style of writing - I used to adopt it until I got too stressed with it.

Soup
Do you prefer baths or showers?
Showers? Quicker and less fuss.

Salad
What was the last bad movie you watched?
Bad movie. Hmm. I don't have much time for bad movies (or movies in general, actually), as lately I just watch whatever is highly recommended!

Main Course
Name something you are addicted to and describe how it affects your life.
My current addiction is coffee! I cannot start a workday without coffee and I get really lethargic. It might be psychological because there are some days I go without it in the morning, but I have to have my coffee by lunch or else! I used to think I wouldn't become that addicted to coffee, but yeah I am. :P Today I had hardcore coffee (from Country Style) which accounts for me being hyper this late. Goodness.

Dessert
Which instrument is your favorite to listen to?
I'm not a fan of instrumental music, but I like harp music. Sounds sleep-inducing, but there was this harp CD that was playing somewhere and I really enjoyed it. :) I just forgot where to get it (my dad mentioned it before but boo I really forgot).

Last weekend was the first time I was not in the office at all - we were all banned to go to work last weekend because of the maintenance to be done. My weekend started with dinner and coffee with friends - P, Mel and Kathy. Good to catch up with them, especially after Mel's surprise wedding! Then Saturday found me doing errands: going to school for consultation for a paper, grocery shopping (I'm not a fan, but I badly needed to do so, including a request for Dogdog) and met my brother for a quick snack and window-shopping. That's it. For the first time in ages, I felt I slowed down for once and it was... okay. Somehow I got through the weekend, all laid-back and mellow (well except for Sunday, I had a massive headache that ate up the whole afternoon and evening. Darn it, now I have to make up for that). I've been so used to the busy feeling (which I admittedly like) that a steady weekend was quite a shock to my system, I think.

* * *
I told Crissy Saturday was supposed to be "my day", as I spent it alone and in my choice of places to go. Now the trouble with declaring days as "mine" is the fact that it can go heavy on the wallet! I bought on impulse (well not really since I'm a fan) this Meg Cabot book, stuff for my desk and so on. Hehe I missed trawling through the mall for interesting things. :)

Oh my I am so tired, my throat is sore, but Maroon 5 last night was such a blast! The girls from work and I had so much fun! Until today, we were on such a high in the office, shrieking every time we remembered Adam Levine (and James Valentine for Crissy). Squee!

When people ask about a favorite and most memorable moment during the concert, I always say it was during She Will Be Loved. When Adam (yes, close) came to the line, "I want to make you feel beautiful...", he stopped, the band stopped, the lights were off save for a spotlight on Adam. The whole Araneta was screaming (with kilig!) and Adam was just smiling. Siiigh. I've been reliving that moment thanks to Karina and Casey! Loved that part.

Loooved also Won't Go Home without you (the energy was amazing) and so on... I was glad they sang This Love and Sunday Morning too (but no Must Get Out).

Fun ever (two concerts in less than a week!), but now back to real life (and saving up again! I mean, when is this guy ever coming here?!).

Friday's Feast on a Sunday!

Appetizer
Who was the last person you hugged?
Tessa, in real life and virtually. Hope you are okay! Miss you. :(

Soup
Share a beauty or grooming trick or tip with us.
I'm not a beauty trick kind of girl, but I firmly believe that well-groomed eyebrows are a good way to lighten one's face. It's the only beauty indulgence I really go out of my way for.

Salad
What does the color yellow make you think of?
Light yellow reminds me of happy, mellow moments.

Main Course
If you were to make your living as a photographer, what subject would your pictures revolve around?
Everyday things and events. Even with my camera phone, I like to photograph food, Dogdog, little things that remind me of that day, random things people don't usually notice, stuff like that.

Dessert
What was the longest book you ever read?
Longest book? I was going to say Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, but I have yet to finish that...

Okay I noticed I haven't been writing so much about what's going on... mainly because there hasn't been anything happening. Been going to the office almost seven days a week, staying late and all. Not to mention school, I think I have a backlog in my papers. I like being busy, though. It keeps my mind off certain things. Sigh.

I did get to go to the Ne-yo concert last Friday though. Weird that I went, considering I'm not a fan of Ne-yo at all. I did go with my officemates and we had fun grooving and all. We sang our hearts out with Go On Girl: "I'm too fly to be depressed!" Yeah. I felt though we were underdressed! So many people were really, really dressed up. I was grubby, coming in from a busy day at work (with my working lunch and all).

Oh here's something strange: a random number has been missending messages to my phone. First was an MMS of a girl. As in she was in her, say 20s? Anyway it was a self-portrait, she was in what looked like a classroom and was wearing a tank top. Strange, but I didn't pay attention to it anymore (although it's not everyday I get an MMS from random people). Today, I received an SMS from the same number which read: "Hi daddy :) Iya and I miss you." That got me thinking: is she texting her father? That would be sad if she was estranged from her father and he won't be able to reply since it goes to my phone. Or maybe she's texting Iya's dad/her ex bf? Hehe yes, I made up a story about it. Now I wonder if I'll get another message from her.
