I have the worst dysmenorrhea ever! I hate it. It's been for two days already and it doesn't seem to be cured by two Ibuprofens, hot compress and a chocolate bar. Okay, I don't see how a chocolate bar can help, but it was my emergency chocolate bar in my pedestal before and I've been eyeing it for the past week. And you could say I felt better after downing the whole bar. Just a bit better.

Grr. It's so, so painful, more so than before. And I don't want to move or whatever. Sigh. I really didn't want to take medicine as well since I don't want my body to get used to it, but I couldn't take the pain anymore. Huhuhu.

No wonder I've been so emotional this week... ganun ba yun? Or is it really all in the mind? Every little thing has made me cry lately, from the TV shows to books to text messages to writing e-mails, some of which I couldn't send. And I've been snappy and cross, with my dad at the receiving end of my scowls and irritable replies. Hay. Even my hair didn't escape my wrath: I cut my bangs because I was so annoyed they were getting in my eyes. Haaaay. I really thought it was just because of my EQ-draining experience last week and earlier this week, not counting the pseudo nervous breakdown last Friday (wah!).

Last Sunday was the baptism of my newest godchild, Nicolette Franchesca. It was a good time also to catch up with my friends Anch, Anna K and Tet (and their SOs). Too bad none of us had a camera. :( Oh well, next time, which I think and hope will be real soon.

To my friends who haven't seen my hair yet or have been asking how it looks like, I like to tell them that my bangs are like Bangs' (played by Valerie Garcia) on ABS CBN's Let's Go. Her bangs are full, over her eyes and according to the show info, lampas ilong ang haba (obviously not, but I wonder how she can see or if she's not bothered by it). It's supposed to be part of her character - mysterious, cool chick who doesn't show her face. I haven't actually seen an episode of Let's Go - nor do I know anyone who has - but everyone seems to know who Bangs is and how she looks like! People wonder if that's her real hair, if she doesn't get irritated by the hair and it amuses them no end. But no, my hair isn't like that. Haha, I'm not cool enough to pull it off!

I'm watching Amazing Race Asia right now - well not really. The TV is on, but I'm currently reading up on The Prestige. Great movie! I never expected the twists and after reading the forums, I think I'd like to get the book as well!

Anyway, back to AXN Amazing Race Asia. I was just curious about the two Philippine teams. Ever since The Amazing Race was on TV, my friends and I have always wanted to join the show. Being able to travel around the world, see famous sights and activities read only in books and seen on TV, provided you do last the whole race. The bonus is the million dollars at the end. But everything else in between sounds so much fun and interesting. The hassle, I guess, would be running around with huge backpacks, stress in booking flights, erratic time zones. Crazy.

So far, The Amazing Race Asia is okay. The Filipino teams are fun to watch, especially when they speak Tagalog (example, Jeena: "Sina Aubrey wala na?" while doing the Detour) and how they worked together to find the Pitstop. I found the other team (Aubrey and Jacq)... well, they really make for entertaining TV. :) Wonder how they'll fare later on in the race.

My friends and I used to discuss who we'd be partnered with. Apparently, Ate Ina and I could not be partners because we would eat everything everywhere! Hahaha! And last year, Tessa and I discovered that we couldn't be partners because we're both unfit and unbalanced, as proven in Bohol. Ahaha!

The Amazing Race dreams were brought to reality after reading the requirements so I settled with watching and living vicariously. Oh, and brought to reality also by the book Lost and Found by Carolyn Parkhurst. Considered a satire about reality shows, the book also gives insight (I assume based on the author's research as she acknowledges former TAR contestants) on the processes behind the scenes. I mean, seriously editing plays a huge part in manipulating how close the racers are - or not, but editing also removes the boring parts like how long the actual travel is, how tedious the prcoess of having releases signed (now you know why people are blurred sometimes) and so on. Ugh. It's not as exciting as one sees on TV. Plus my back hurts just watching them run with their backpacks. And I don't think one really gets to enjoy - just a quick glimpse of everything, because they're super concerned with getting ahead.

So I'll just go back to watching TV and making sure I'll fulfill my travel dreams in some other way. :)

I decided to level up (haha) and revert to my early grade school/early high school/early college look: bangs! Only not baby (as in First Year High School and early First Year College - early because I began doing the boy cut, Natalie Imbruglia look later into the first semester) or full (as in Grade 4). For once, the stylist and I were in agreement of what to do with my hair.

My mom says I look more feminine with the bangs. It looks okay, I guess. A tad iffy about it. I wasn't expecting that much hair to be the bangs, but I trust the stylist. It's getting in eyes and quite itchy. But it's something new! :) I wonder how I'll look after I wash my hair though.
