Panalo stuff for the past few days:

Ang TV on Friday mornings! Throw back to grade school days when everyone was talking about the Ang TV kids. Everyone wanted to be or crushed on those kids! Funny when I remember that.

While driving the other day along this market road, I stopped to let a wedding Revo pass by. Right behind it was a motorcycle, with two members of the entourage! As in the guy driving the motorbike was in a barong and the girl backriding (is that the term?) was in her short dress, all hair and make up. Plus, she wasn't sitting daintily sideways as any girl in a dress or skirt is wont to do, but in the normal way of riding the motorbike. Darn, wasn't able to get a picture! They drove by quite fast.

My teacher was talking about getting mean for the grades in class or something (I wasn't really listening), but the end part, he was saying something to the effect of booting out someone in class who would be pahamak. The class fell silent and I blurted out, "Survivor?" And our teacher was like, "Yes, you have to survive in this class, we will do it like PBB!" Then he gestured to our extroverted class president, "Or your president could volunteer to be let out..." Our president was like, "Ano ako, si Wendy?!" Hehe kulit.

And so I was supposed to be tackling Pareto charts and Pearson product-moment correlation coefficients (and I don't know what I'm talking about at this moment, eep it's already 2a!) when I chanced upon this show on TV: Going Public. Half-reading and half-listening (TV on, but I was writing and trying to absorb the book), it seemed amusing. Apparently, Patty was watching too and we were both puzzled what the show was all about. Okay, what really intrigued me was that one of the guy characters is named Monch too. My nickname is such a guy name ever. The makulit one daw. I'll read up on the show after today! Wah!

I'm so tired again. I don't get why I'm so zonked this week. Maybe because my body is adjusting to my new schedule? I didn't think it would be stressful when I signed up for it and take a toll on my body or I'm just not used to it. In any case, I'm still hard headed and still up until late just because.

Anyway, I've been meaning to link this YouTube video of Blake ever since I heard his version of You Give Love a Bad Name (and I hope that's the correct title, I almost put Shot Through the Heart as the title!) on the radio. I still like Blake's version of She Will Be Loved with With or Without You, as seen in the clip. Was never a fan of Jordin's song, the winning one which they released. Speaking of American Idol, Elliot's coming to town! Yes, I've been overdosed with Wait For You lately. *coughIwonderwhycough*

kopi & toast
kopi & toast,
originally uploaded by monchers.
Mmmm new favorite again! I had my kopi fix at Kopi Roti again yesterday, but instead of having kopi bun, I tried the milk and choco toast. Yummy! That's my new favorite! I ate it up in seconds and was tempted to get another. My brother tells me to try the teh tarik or the barley... but I really love the kopi, so it might take time before I change my order. Or maybe soon - I know my friends have commented that kopi makes me winded enough to be way more makulit than usual.

I've been meaning to blog about the past week, on the beginning of my new (mis)adventure, on going back to a life that I used to live. Ugh, I can't seem to put together words about it just yet because I have mixed feelings. It's okay, but it isn't all that bad either, just steady. I'm still feeling my way around, getting surprised at the things I have to take in, easing into the groove of things. Let's just say I've been discovering my old self again: I'm seriously a library kind of girl, I'm still really the quiet, reserved person I was before and I still get distracted when reading extremely boring and heavy books for a subject I'm not quite adept at. I still don't know what's my learning style either!

But I like to think I'm beginning to gain a sense of purpose and control again. I'm crossing fingers and hoping, believing everything will fall into place and make sense again.

random picture
No photographer here, just a really bored driver. This was taken while stuck in traffic along this market road I pass everyday. I just thought it was strange, what with all the boxes of what I think are junk food and biscuits loaded on the small cart (what's it called? The word escapes me at the moment). They were parked far from the market, so loading and bringing all those boxes and balancing carefully was interesting to watch. At least it humored me while I was stuck in traffic. Gaah with all the traffic everywhere, I commented to someone I wish the car I was using could be a Transformer (like Bumblebee haha), but with my luck, it's probably going to be a Decepticon. Wah!

I'm surprised I'm so zonked at 12mn! Oh my I'm yawning and tearing up, my body's not tired, but I'm really drowsy. I'm usually still up and about at this time, only going to sleep by about 2-3a. Weird. Anyway, I just had to post that my horoscope today says I am starting to feel more in control of my life these days and that I'm not at the end of a yo-yo anymore. I don't believe in horoscopes (I only read them at the end of the day for fun, to see if it relates to my day/life), but I'd like to think today's forecast (is that what it's called?) made sense and gave me hope and a sign that so far, I haven't been doing anything crazy or stupid and yes, I'm getting better. Goodness.

I have no background on Transformers and I have never watched the cartoons. So obviously, I watched Transformers without any expectations and thoroughly enjoyed it afterwards. I don't mind if true blue fans have been complaining about some details; for me, it was fun. So surprised that Sucre was there, complete with the "papi" expression. Sigh and there's Josh Duhamel. Got to know Optimus Prime (and so they say, he's [it's?] gwapo) - I seriously had no idea what that was, as in I didn't know he (it?) was a robot and awww, Bumblebee, of course. Super kulit with the songs! Actually, the humor in the movie was super kulit without being overboard or cheesy. But I found the last scene, ehe?

I was glad the movie gave some sort of background, thus saving me from thinking and asking "eh bakit ganun?" and half expecting a reply "panoorin mo yung cartoon!" and not a dull moment all throughout! Gaaah clearly, I can't quite think of what to say, except that it's a movie that can't be missed and to echo what everyone's been saying, very high entertainment value indeed. A friend rated it 11 out of ten popcorns. :)

coffee
coffee,

Speaking of coffee, there's a thread in PinoyExchange, asking if you have a coffee name. That thought never occurred to me! I always give my real nickname - have to spell it out to the barista just in case they look pretty baffled. Or if they don't ask, I get surprising and strange misspellings of my name, such as "Mondge" which I got one time. I guess I would find it funny giving other names; I might not realize that that coffee is meant for me! Although one time, Tessa, Corinne and I gave different names for fun. Tessa was Joni, Corinne was Toni and I was Melbs - there's a special *ahem* story why each name was such. Hahaha fun memories of the Prom B girls!

kopi
kopi,
originally uploaded by monchers.
I am so addicted to the kopi at Kopi Roti! Patty and I can spend a couple of hours there, just chatting... with two rounds of kopi and kopi bun. Yummy. :) I have to agree with my brother, it's a very steady place to hang out and it's a good alternative to the usual Starbucks, Seattle's Best, Coffee Bean, Bo's and Gloria Jean's.

Is it obvious I am a coffee addict? I love coffee! I only began drinking coffee during my third year in college when Starbucks opened across school and that was only the occasional Frapuccinos (pricey for a college student!). The hard core coffee drinking began after a retreat which Anch and I attended and we were both so sleepy, so we began to take coffee (as in the timpla kind na talaga. Before the retreat, I had no idea how to make coffee! Good thing I watch my dad make his coffee everyday). So coffee kept me up and about from then on and while I plowed through fifth year.

Working, I got used to taking coffee everyday, sometimes twice or thrice a day. I discovered the joys of a Php15 cup of "normal coffee" (as opposed to "strong coffee" - to this day, I'm still afraid to try that) from the cafeteria and the pwede na taste of the vending machine coffee. I discovered 3-in-1 mixes, which are surprisingly good! Gonuts has pretty good coffee too, with a donut to boot, I have yet to try coffee at Krispy Kreme. I need at least three packs of sugar and cream for McDonald's coffee! I can tell you that coffee with a major kick, that caused me to be super hyper for the whole day is from Country Style Donuts and that White Chocolate Mocha at SBC is better than Starbucks' - but then again, it depends which branch you go to.

I'm no coffee connoisseur though. I mean, when my dad asks me to pick up a bag of beans from Starbucks, I usually choose Verona (?), as recommended by a barista, saying it's a medium blend, not too intense so that should work. I have no other knowledge of coffee except the way I like it or whatever catches my fancy. And I don't drink coffee at home either and hardly in front of my parents (oo nga no?). I guess it's some psychological thing for me to have it with my friends or when I need a pick-me-up to get through the day.
