I like this postcard from PostSecret:
-----Email Message----- Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2007 3:30 AM Subject: happy with who i've become
it feels like my whole life has been full of losses. but more than ever i am so happy with the way i am too. ive learned so much about myself and am glad i can honestly say i respect myself. every loss we face is a moment we have survived. and everyday i feel like a stronger person because of those misfortunes.
i dont know how i did it or how i will for the rest of my life. but without losses, i wouldnt know who i am right now. its a beautiful thing! -----End Message-----
-----Email Message----- Sent: Sunday, May 27, 2007 3:21 AM Subject: year of losses
It's funny how losing everything helps you find yourself.
So I'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has believed rumors, hated me, tormented me, screwed me over, and abandoned me this year. You made me who I am. And I finally love myself. -----End Message-----
What an auspicious postcard (and replies), especially seeing it today! It's been a rough week (gaaah, it's been quite a week, I tell you. Stress), month/s, year. It's just been a lot so I am hoping for the best, that things will begin to get better... it should, right? I've always, always believed that. Things can only get better. I can only get better and stronger. Sigh.Labels: life, postsecret

I think Jordin will win this season's American Idol. So obvious! Judges are praising her to the high heavens and keep on mentioning she's 17 and super talented for her age. I like Blake a lot, but I don't think he's quite cut out to be the winner (plus being "bottom two-ed" with Melinda last week might not bode well with people's subconscious). I think AI would also like to produce a pop star that the younger audience/target market will like. Blake's cute, but he might not be "pop" enough (especially with his song choices. No way is he going to win with the last song!).
I thought this season was pretty boring. I found the audition episodes really uninteresting and not fun - it was the same as last year and the year before that. Nothing new. The elimination episodes weren't that exciting either; no one really interesting or good enough to root for all the way through. The only fun part of the season was watching Blake (haha, mini crushie) and listening to Simon. Funny I care so much about who's going to win to actually post my opinion this year.
Last year was fun though. Each of my friends were rooting for the different guys in the competition, it was super funny. There was P with Chris Daughtry, Liza for Elliot, Elena for Bucky and me for Ace. Haha! Admittedly P and Liza are the ones gloating now since Daughtry and Elliot seem to be doing well and Elena and I have yet to hear about Bucky and Ace. I hoped Katharine would win last year. Oh well.
I'll still be up early to catch the live telecast on TV!Labels: random

Ouchie. My right upper arm and shoulder hurts. I have the dimmest, vaguest memory of how it happened though.
Last night or early this morning (as I saw the time, it was 12:55a), I recall I fell off my bed (now how is that possible is beyond me). I peered at my phone and saw it was still on and the time read 12:55a. I tried to get up, but somehow I couldn't at all - I tried to stand, but fell again and started thinking, "Oh God, why is this happening?" Then in a sudden burst of strength, I threw myself on my bed and fell asleep. I remember though before falling asleep, my toes hurt because I landed on them (?) when I tried to stand up and fell. So I wonder why my arm hurts - was it when I threw myself on my bed? Weird.
I just realized my right thigh hurts too. Labo.
Anyway, other things. My new ear candy is Joss Stone's "Tell Me What We're Gonna Do Now", Regina Spektor's "Samson" and Julianne's album Grateful - I really enjoy her album (choice song: "Empty Chairs").
Saw some pics from my friend Mims' wedding. Hahaha, drama with the chocolate fondue and all. So funny. I have a long wedding post which I have yet to publish as I don't have pictures to go along with it yet. :) It was definitely one of the more fun weddings I've ever attended.
I really like this from PostSecret:

Check out my over ink stained finger. Apparently, when you tell the person in charge of inking people in the precinct, "Manong, wag masyadong marami (and in my mind, Hindi po ako mukhang flying voter)", the opposite actually happens. My finger looks terrible up to today! Waah I can't seem to get the ink out no matter how many times I wash and scrub it. Unlike in 2004, I was able to clean my finger easily, this year it's bad. And is it supposed to be on the left or right hand? At least it's proof that I voted. But I still look like a slob, especially when I hear people saying the ink got off easily. Obviously, I was slightly fretting and distracted while voting.
You would've thought, being bombarded with so many political ads and politicians in your face every single day of the campaign period, there are so many candidates running. But getting to sit down in the precinct and ready to vote? Parang slim pickings. Completely clueless about who to vote for. I mean, I know who I'm not voting for (especially for the senators, considering I've had encounters with some candidates), but to vote for? Ugh. I could barely complete my 12 senators, didn't know who the people running for local office (which, as I mentioned in 2004, should be important because they make the laws the directly affect me). I hate always, always having to settle for the lesser evil when voting, but knowing the politics in this country, that's always the better choice. Sad and pathetic.
Oh, I don't think you can see the pens I brought to vote: glittery red and blue pens. Hehe. That's the mess of my table in the precinct, my vein-y hands with the over ink stained finger straightening out my ballot in the picture. Labels: rant-rave

Friday's Feast One Hundred and Forty Three
Appetizer Tell about a time when you had to be brave. Right now, I think is one of those times, but I don't want to dwell so much on it. So let's see... probably... okay I have to think about this. But definitely right now is one of those times and I'm not quite up to it because I'm scared and all.
Soup Which upcoming movie are you excited about seeing? Shrek the Third. I hope it'll be funnier than the second. The second was better than the first! Laught trip - so I wonder, will they be able to surpass the second? Tall order, so I'm trying not to expect much.
Salad Name an item you try to always have on hand. Ballpen and this datebook where I place all my expenses for the day. I decided to be "responsible" for my funds and plotting my expenses each day is NOT fun. So I try to keep that date book with me all the time.
Main Course Imagine the most relaxing room you can think of. Now describe it! Really quiet with a balcony and lots of windows and cushy chairs, great view of the sea. Hmm, not that good with describing that. Or the writing room of Erica Barry in Something's Gotta Give - I loved her place there.
Dessert On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being highest), how spiritual or religious are you? Yikes. This is hard. I would say a 5-6? I'm not very good at this. :( But I'm trying my best.

I love the One Tree Hill episode Pictures of You (413), especially Brooke's picture. Loved the idea of that class, sometimes I wish had classes like that in high school. I mean, I loved having Shakespeare, speech writing and journaling, but how about stuff like self-discovery and blind spot and all that? Was it for homeroom? But still. Anyway, I consider one of the best classes in high school I took was a summer creative writing course (in another school). I still have my notes from that class and the pieces I wrote. Really high school, teen writing level but I really learned a lot there - it opened up possibilities for writing inspiration - and the teacher was very good. Wonder if he still teaches? Should've motivated me enough to study there for college.
Yup, oddly I am addicted to One Tree Hill and Veronica Mars - years late, especially after Ais had been pushing me to watch Veronica Mars when it first started here. Some Thursdays, we'd go out to eat and she'd give me a synopsis of the previous night's episode. I hate it because I'm starting to get very interested in the story. Heehee. I love Grey's Anatomy but I'm not super involved or atat to get to the next episode. Oh well, there are always spoilers online.
New discovery today: Patty and I tried Gonuts' cold mocha (was it? Sorry we were too overwhelmed with the donut selection, hehe) drinks. Ooh, new addiction! The Choc-O-Hazelnut (not sure of the name) was good! And there's a promo too - we got the small size of the drink and donut for Php85. It was enough to satisfy our sweet tooth, especially Patty who had been craving for a donut! I will get my peanut butter donut next time!
Still hate my hair, but when I look at our pics during Mims' wedding, it wasn't so bad! (I digress: my hair peg for that was sort of like the straight-haired Hilarie Burton, but I don't think it worked out well being Hilarie. Haha! It just came out normal, really just me) I really just don't know how to manage it. And with the weather? Eep weird, frizz. It's raining, but it gets so warm too! Predicted 40 degrees this month! Wah.
Really random post! Hmm I'm just too wired. It's a kerfuffle thing. :PLabels: favorites, random

Promise, I'm stressing over my hair!!! So unmanageable and... it's a throwback to the 80s! Actually P said 90s naman daw. She didn't see how short it was during the wedding because I was all made up (yeah! I liked my hair and make up! Super happy I agreed to have it done at Watercolors! The stylist made do with the little and weird hair that I had. Galing niya. Sobrang I will book her again next time there's an occasion that requires make up). My hair is at such odd lengths and layers. I hope it grows out quickly talaga.
Even my brother had to comment if I had it done at our favorite stylist who could do wonders with hair because I looked kulot (?).
Okay, maybe my hair looks great when it's neat and blow-dried or even dried nicely with the layers flipping out properly.
But I don't have the energy or patience to do so.
Or even a hair dryer. Wah. At least I can still ponytail my hair.
