I'm slightly gloating because I can still pass for a college student! Haha! My dad and I ran into one of his friends at the Salcedo Market today and she asked my dad if I was still in college. My dad was sorely tempted to tell her that I was retired already (hahaha!), instead he said, "She's very old already!" Unless his friend was being nice to him to say he looks young, I'm taking that as a compliment! Hahaha! Anyway, I think I don't act my age still. Not being immature or anything, but I mean, I feel like I always have been, like nothing really changed with me. I don't know if that's good or bad.

I got my Starbucks planner already, which is my dad's Christmas gift to me. Couldn't do the whole planner card this year, so he did it for me. I know he doesn't like the red cups (come to think of it, neither do I. Not much anyway. I only like the Toffee Nut flavor and it was out of stock today!), so my dad has some deals with the baristas he knows in the Starbucks branches near his office. I think he's even trying to set up a pair of baristas. Ang kulit. Yep, a big, clunky planner - that's what a "busy" kuno person like me needs. But I love planners! There's something about a blank planner at the beginning of the year that signifies a whole year of possibilities! :)

Ayun. It's almost the new year! I hope it's going to be a really good year ahead. Super super positive thinking. :)

You can't really hide too short, extremely uneven bangs.

Even my friend Mims, who doesn't know I cut my bangs regularly, noticed that they were much shorter when I popped over for our annual Christmas gift giving slash picture taking. Gone is the sideswept, feminine look, what's back is the baby bangs look of my high school/grade school days.

And I did get the "Dude, I told you so" I was expecting.

So I promised my friends that I will go to my stylist in January, when my bangs sort of grow out. And that I won't cut my bangs by myself again - apparently, I am dangerous with scissors and a weird mood. Besides, I really am due for a cut next month. Too bad I went psycho with a pair of scissors on my hair right before the holidays.

Anyway back to our picture taking. This year, we were only four - Patty, Mims, Crissy and me - as opposed to last year's and the year before that's picture.

Last year: Kerfuffs, Mims, Mel, Watty, Candy, Lance, me, Crissy

Looking at last year's picture, there are a lot of changes in the people there. Three have moved on to different paths from the office *cough*, friendships evolved and life intervened a lot in the past year (I don't even think the guy in the background is even there anymore after that picture was taken!). Even the look of the office is not the same anymore. It's been a long way from there to here and I wonder what the new year will bring to all of us.

Hmmm. Must not cut bangs by myself anymore. I cut my bangs again, something I do every two weeks, and it came out much, much shorter than I expected. My friends and stylist will not be amused. I can almost hear now a "Dude, I told you so." :P

Went Christmas shopping and again, fell in love with what I bought for my friends! It always happens every year. Last year, I kept a pretty pair of earrings for myself - I really could not bear to part with it. This year, I am pretty much self-restrained and will really give my gifts for the intended people. It's just as fun with the people appreciating what I give them. I crammed my shopping again this year and am not yet done! Wah!

But I still can't bring myself to indulge and feel the season. I've been working on something for the past month and... nothing. So I don't know and am not sure what to make out of it. But there have been surprising moments when a feeling of cheer makes its way to me - like today, getting an SMS from Jo, greeting me Happy Holidays and reminding me of good times with our friends. I couldn't help but feel giddy with that! I suppose it's the small things that make the season (and life!) and I'm looking for big meanings always.

I just realized I've been reconnecting with the Fab Team again, after two years! I'm unbelievably excited about the idea. ;)

I loooove the new sandals I bought from Ate She today! There goes my budget for new sneakers and different pair of sandals from Ate She. Oh well. I love it! I don't usually buy shoes on the spot - it takes a lot of hemming and hawing from me and I go back and forth from store to store - but I instantly fell in love with the sandals! Snapped up a size 7 which was supposed to be Mims', while she got the size 8 which I was fitting. Patty SF also got a pair. They're gorgeous!

Onto other things... Gwennie's in Manila! Yay! :) And our house is Christmas-ed out with decorations, but I can't seem to get into the spirit of things. For now anyway. I'm in limbo about a lot of things so I hope that's excusable.

This is a very exclamation point-y, scattered entry, I swear. It's been a looong and unusual day lang. Lots of realizations, surprises, stress (pseudo nervous breakdown!) and happy reunions. It's just so weird.

Thanks to the Philippine Daily Inquirer's Gift Guide published yesterday, I know what to give... myself. Wah! I need to shop for other people, not myself! This is my problem every year.

I was sort of able to trawl the malls yesterday, thanks to shopping for my dad's Kris Kringle (for the second year! I am so not creative anymore when thinking up of gifts. Must be the pressure, I did all six themes in one shopping trip). The malls were tiring and boring. I think I prefer shopping in bazaars when it comes to my gifts for other people because stuff found in bazaars are unique, very personal and it really shows a lot of thought was put into the product. Unfortunately, I haven't been to any bazaar yet... oh, wait I did, last Friday but the only interesting place was this shop which I already bought a lot of stuff from last year.

On other stuff, I'm quite intrigued by the movie version of "The Time Traveler's Wife"! With Rachel McAdams (in talks) as Clare Abshire. Hmmm... interesting, especially on who'll play Henry as well! Enjoyed the book, wonder how it will translate into film.

Flowers for me arrived today, without any indication of the sender. None at all, except for a "hope you like the flowers and have a nice day!" note. They're very fragrant. Okay, I like flowers as much as the next girl, but... I don't quite know what to make out of it. It's been an unusual day so far, what with a slightly surprising phone call from the office and the flowers.
