I miss having short hair! In my school years, I always kept my hair short, to keep up with my "low maintenance" image. I realized, though, that short hair needs constant trimming to keep the shape. Not very low maintenance. Haha! Now I keep my hair at skimming-the-shoulder length, which I realize is not okay because it's prone to flyaways and if I don't have my hair straightened (which I haven't done), my head's silhouette is an upside down mushroom. Sigh.

Caught the video of Natalie Imbruglia's Torn a while ago and I realized how much I missed short hair! That's the shortest my hair got (first year college) and I remember how fun it was to tuck short strands behind my ears and let it fall oh-so-stylishly. In retrospect, I do look a bit mannish if the cut isn't done like Natalie's, but I still like it. Now I want to have short hair again, but people have been dissuading me from doing so. Plus, I have some formal events to attend this year and somehow, longish hair leaves a lot of ground to work around with. Of course, it's another story for thin fine hair, but whatever.

Anyway... I had a haircut today (you know what they say about not having a haircut before a big event? So true - hair needs a few days to grown into the style and cut. I am sooo learning this lesson the hard way since I'm attending a wedding tomorrow!) and I was explaining to the stylist how I wanted short hair, but I was putting it off. He cut off more than the usual since my hair's in a pretty sad state... and so now, my hair's short(er than usual)! It's in a style that's supposed to give body to my hair.

It should still look okay tomorrow, since I had it treated - I love the minty scent of the treatment - as well. Not the look I was expecting for tomorrow, but it should still be fine. :)

I like this picture, it's just a bit dark. I like the red wall with all the details on it. There were other interesting places around the restaurant to randomly photograph, but I was shy to go around.

So I told myself that this week, I'd try not to eat so much and remain as thin as possible to fit the gorgeous dress I got (thanks to my dad! I super ♥ the dress) last weekend for Mims' wedding. I am in love with the dress and I had it altered to fit me perfectly, but I requested for it to have enough breathing space so I could eat a lot and move freely to the buffet table. Hehe.

But seriously, I love the dress! I cannot rave enough about it. The design is perfect - it's actually a frustrated design on my part because I wanted a similar one two years ago for G's wedding, but the sales people and my mom insisted preferred another design. So I was sad about that (although that dress was pretty as well, it wasn't the same), but now I got the design I always wanted. The dress being a lovely color of gray and discreet gold threads running through it, it's absolutely my type: unobtrusive and unusual. I just hope I don't have a duplicate!

I am also relieved to have found a dress. The thing with me is, even if I've known about this wedding for ages and have more than ample time to look for a dress, when it comes down to it, I'm very lazy in seriously looking and buying one. I like to look around and say, "I'll think about it", but not really. That happened to a wedding I attended last year - I knew about it five months before, but only shopped for a dress the day before and ended up with nothing. These are the times I really wish I could afford a personal shopper to just pick out something for me. It's not that I don't like to shop or dress up, but sometimes I don't really want to look over- or under-dressed, or completely out of the look/dress code.

Anyway, back to trying not to eat. I just want to justify the dress, but I can't help but eat a lot! Wah. I've been eating and eating ice cream because the flavor's interesting - Mango Peach Melba. Plus eating lots of rice because I like corned beef with lots of rice, which was my lunch today. And now I'm munching on One One, those rice crackers by Monde Nissin. Will cut down for dinner - I wonder how, considering it's almost that time of the month when I crave and eat too much. Okay, will try to survive until the weekend.

We held Mims' bridal shower last last weekend. Super fun! It was another Todo Na 'To, one year after. Overnight at a hotel with girl bonding! All girls present (me, P, Mims, Kathy, Sofie, Candy) except for Mel, no boys allowed. That crazy weekend in bullets:

>Hotel was okay... they messed up our reservation though which was such a hassle since we needed a room asap since Sofs came from graveyard. Poor girl. We were there by 1p but got to the room by 4p+ yet! Annoying because we called in to reserve Wednesday yet. First choice hotel gave us a reference number for any concern with our reservations.

> Surprised by the room: you would've thought a two bedroom suite would have two bathrooms. It only had one with two towels. I mean, I don't think that's enough but whatever. And they only offered two complimentary breakfasts. Again, first choice hotel offered four complimentary breakfasts.

> Ahhh delivery is convenient talaga. We were all just lazy to go out of the room since it was pretty comfy in there with the air conditioner.

> I'm not ever going to hear songs such as "Vulnerable", "Superman", "Lips of an Angel", "Reason for Breathing" or whatever in the same way again! Never never never.

> I can live without blue pala and P is proud of me! Hahaha!

> First time in a looong time I was up for 24 hours. Not bad but I was woozy already by the 23rd hour. Thank you MTV, but in the four hours you were on that early morning, never did I see or hear "Tulak ng Bibig" or "Turning My Safety Off".

> Gained a new appreciation for the music video of "Love Team" by Itchyworms though. Since it was played twice! That, and "Over it" by Kat McPhee.

> I like watching local TV with my friends! They're more updated than I am on what's happening on TV and celebrities. Fun, I learned a lot - but I'm not credible when I give local celebrity gossip. Hmph. :)

> I learned a lot. I miss my friends.

> So many moments from that weekend, uncaptured. :(

why it's hopeful
I was suddenly seized by this fear - of "what ifs", "what could have beens", stuff I don't like so late into this leap of faith. It never struck me until now, which really scared and bothered me because, why now? I seriously don't need it at this point. But I don't want it to get the better of me, so I'm remaining hopeful.
