A picture from our MSM (may sariling mundo) Christmas Party last December yet. The real party was raging in the pantry, complete with food, drinks, Magic Mic and so on. We were just so zonked from the long day and felt giddy that the Christmas weekend would be coming up, so we just started taking pictures. Also, last year, we took pictures so we wanted to keep the tradition. :)

11 days into the new year and I am tired.

I entered the year coughing and sniffling... I sincerely hope this is not how my year will turn out to be. I don't have any voice at all! The holidays were much fun. I wasn't expecting much of a holiday (truly), but somehow my friends and family managed to make it cheery, which I appreciated.

Anyway, here's my usual year end survey.

1. What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
Finance a trip on my own. I mean, I do go on road trips, but going to Bohol was all my money!

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't think so on both counts. Oh, alright, I resolve not to say bad words so much anymore. It feels... not right, although it's the only way I can relieve stress, aside from eating and drinking way too much coffee.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
None.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not very close to me.

5. What countries did you visit?
Aww, none this year. Hopefully, in 2006...

6. What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Optimism, spontaneity, a life.

7. What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Oh wow... no particularly nice date. :(

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Ummm... being able to hold myself together what with all the stresses?

9. What was your biggest failure?
I don't want to start.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I was pretty healthy throughout the year, save for the terrible anxiety attacks, tummy aches, coughs and colds.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
The trip to Bohol, a lot shoes!

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Err... I can't say mine.

13. Whose behaviour appalled you and made you depressed?
Again, I don't want to start. :(

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food, coffee, shoes (I'm not a shoe person, but I must've bought a lot of shoes this year), books.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Days off, my vacation leaves, eating out after work (lafang with Watty!).

16. What song will always remind you of 2005?
"The Blower's Daughter" by Damien Rice, "Ever After" (I know, so overplayed that it's quite jologs, but that was the song playing when my friends and I went to Batangas), classic Madonna songs, Madonna's "Hung Up", Pussycat Dolls' "Dontcha" (sp?), "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, Mariah Carey's songs, especially "We Belong Together" (love her new album), James Blunt's "You're Beautiful".

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
Steady, but leaning to sadder.
ii. thinner or fatter? Oh, hahaha fatter!
iii. richer or poorer? Getting by.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Relaxed more, gone out more, taken more risks.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worried, stressed.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it with my cousins who came over the house. Stressful! :)

22. Did you fall in love in 2005?
No.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
"Desperate Housewives", "Lost", "American Idol"

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Yes, but I'm trying to get over it because I do not want to bring baggage into the new year. Grr. Sigh.

26. What was the best book you read?
I upped my chick lit this year by going on a mad Mag Cabot buying spree--I literally signed up with Powerbooks to get "The Boy Next Door" on order and bought all her "for adult readers" books one after the other. My favorite is "Boy Meets Girl". I also liked "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince", which I cried over.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Can't think of any...

28. What did you want and get?
Got an iPod Mini, a new phone (after my other phone was stolen last May--obviously haven't forgotten about it yet, as people still ask me about it).

29. What did you want and not get?
The opportunity. :(

30. Favorite film of this year?
Oh fudge. Again, I haven't been watching movies lately.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Quarter life. Spent it with my family, doing the usual Saturday stuff--ie, went out, ate out.

32. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
Getting a life. :)

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2005?
Okay, it's still boring but I'm improving! I've started getting more colorful, interesting pieces to make me look livelier. :)

34. What kept you sane?
My family, my friends, stepping out for coffee or eating during the workday.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Still Andy Roddick and now, Ian Somerhalder.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
None. I didn't really care this year for politics. It's all the same, year in and year out. Fweh.

37. Who did you miss?
My college friends! :( Miss them a lot! I hardly saw them throughout the year. And my high school friends, the DSC. Strange how we all keep in touch with one another, but not each other.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
I've been getting to know a lot of people better the past year. I've had a great time because of them!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005.
Life is short. I can't get back what I've wasted on, but I can move on and not regret. I should do things I want to and my happiness should not rest on other people's validation.
And I should always have faith in God. There was a point in the the past year that I contemplated certain things which scared me because I knew I could destroy myself. But thankfully, a sane part of me kept me going and believing and praying. I was so scared of this godlessness in my life, but now, I'm trying to recover.
A sad lesson learned, but soon disproved was that you can only depend on yourself. Well, not true.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
I can never pick out a nice song that accurately sums up my year. What's a good, detached song? That was probably my year. :(
