Survey I answered last year. Not very exciting answers, but I was curious to see how I fared (read: grew) from last year.

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Visit another country. Vote. Had my hair straightened.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I can't exactly remember any resolutions made last year except for the one about having a waist (two years in the running!) and yet I still don't have one and the one about being careful with my earnings.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Not very close to me, but affected people very close to me. :(

5. What countries did you visit?
Thailand. Lovely place.

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
More motivation and political will.

7. What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Been racking my brain all day for this, but I can't seem to think of any special day that really stood out this year.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Work wise, being given more responsibility and additional training. I do hope I'm living up to what's expected of me.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Not being able to move on even with the opportunity already there.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope, just the usual cough and cold. And frequent headaches, ugh.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Hmmm... I guess books. Or the insurance policy that my dad has been encouraging me to get. It's supposed to be an investment for my future.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
I'm proud of my friend who has enough courage to face the truth. :)

13. Whose behaviour appalled you and made you depressed?
Politicians, wannabe politicians (such as celebrities).

14. Where did most of your money go?
Books, food, coffee.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My days off, my two week leave, meeting up with my friends.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
"If I Ain't Got You", "My Boo", Maroon Five songs... a lot! I don't remember the rest of the songs I was mentally compiling. I got to hear part of 89.9's ER today and those were the songs I caught.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder?
Neither. Steady.
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter (!!!)
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Hung out more, went out, relaxed, loosened up.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Worry, regret.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it at my relatives' place, just hanging around.

22. Did you fall in love in 2004?
No.

23. How many one-night stands?
None.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Friends (yay, Star and Channel 5 brought it back), Will and Grace, F (guilty pleasure), Entertainment Tonight (major guilty pleasure), The Amazing Race, The Apprentice. I got hooked on ETC as well...

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, I don't really think so.

26. What was the best book you read?
"The Prodigal Daughter" by Jeffrey Archer. I so loved this book. I don't think Archer has any female leads in his other novels except for this one.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Alicia Keys. Not just because she came here, but I never appreciated her songs before. They bored me! But with her latest album, I'm beginning to listen well to her songs and realize that she's good.

28. What did you want and get?
Materially, the Shopaholic series and a phone with a camera. :)

29. What did you want and not get?
I passed up the opportunity to move on... so I missed that.

30. Favorite film of this year?
Ugh. I hardly watched movies at all this year, except for the occasional DVD at home. The ones that I'm expecting to be really good I haven't seen yet as I figure I'll just watch it when I have time on DVD.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 24 this year. On my birthday, I spent it alone bonding with myself. Two days later though, my brother threw me a surprise party. :)

32. What one thing would have made your year more satisfying?
Being able to move on.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Again, boring! I have always said I want to add color to my wardrobe, but I guess I'm too shy to experiment.

34. What kept you sane?
My family and friends, days off, books.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Vic! Ahaha, especially since I discovered my friends also are into him--it makes this crush even more fun.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Elections, both here and in the US.

37. Who did you miss?
My college friends. I hardly saw them this year! :(

38. Who was the best new person you met?
My teammates and some other officemates!

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004.
I should really really learn from my mistakes. Take chances, sometimes there really is no harm in trying out stuff. There really are no second chances. :(

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
I'll do what it takes 'til I touch the sky
I'll make a wish
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway

Slightly sentimental, but more or less said how I should've done stuff this year. Lyrics taken from here.
